The Glee Madonna album on tops US chart:


The Madonna-themed soundtrack from an episode of hit television series Glee has made its debut at number one in the US album chart. The Power of Madonna, consisting of the pop star’s hits performed by the cast, already sold 98,000 copies in its first week of release, according to official figures.

It is the first Glee soundtrack to top the US chart. Veteran rock act AC/DC were beaten into second spot with their latest album, Iron Man 2. Almost 75 percent of sales of the Glee Madonna album were via download, Nielsen SoundScan added. Two previous releases from the TV show, the music from its first two seasons, made the top five. The two albums have so far sold nearly 1.5 million copies in the US. The new release, based on just one episode of the programme, contains famous celebrity Madonna hits including Like a Prayer and Vogue.

'Slumdog Millionaire' actress Freida Pinto, who was supposed to be part of the 63rd Cannes International Film Festival, will not be presence the event owing to shooting commitments. The actress was expected to walk the red carpet with the stars of "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger" directed by Woody Allen.

"This is to verify that famous Bollywood actress Freida Pinto unhappily will not be attending the Cannes movie festival as she is shooting for `Immortals` in Canada, this film directed by Tarsem Singh is slated to release in2011. Her film `You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger` directed by Woody Allen will be premiering at Cannes," said her spokesperson. The Cannes Film Festival opens May 12.

The Auction Of Sridevi Painting Held On May 6:

Everybody Know her as a Bollywood famous actress. But there is another facet--not known to many--and that is her skill as a painter. Actress Sridevi's painting titled will go under the hammer for charity on May 6 at the world famous auction house Christie's.

“The auction of Sridevi painting held on May 6, will open at $25,000 and is expected to fetch $50,000”, says Boney Kapoor, Sridevi's husband and leading film producer. He says Sridevi has been into painting from an early age and painted whenever she found time after her shootings during her film career. Some of Sridevi's paintings have been gifted to her sister and family friend actor Salman Khan, says Bomey Kapoor.

Sridevi quit the silver screen in 1997 to look after her two children and husband and also found time to do some painting. According to Boney, plans are afoot to hold an exhibition in a few months with 25 to 30 of her paintings.

The money raised from auction of the actress' painting will go to a charity fund to which other global personalities like former US President Bill Clinton and TV personality Oprah Winfrey also contribute. Boney says she is proud of he wife both as an actress as well as a painter although two are totally different mediums of artistic expression.

Hollywood superstar Jackie Chan has joined more than 100 stars from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan in a charity concert for the recent earthquake in China.The five-hour gig in Hong Kong raised $4.8m (£3.1m) for victims of the quake, which killed more than 2,200 people. The disaster attack China's Qinghai province earlier this month.

Chan was visited the affected area last week, featured in a video produced for the fundraiser, which showed him living with the victims. Donnie Yen, Leon Lai, Sammi Cheng and Barbie Hsu all participated in the Artistes 414 Fundraising Campaign concert.

Other Actor Andy Lau said: "The quake area is located in a plateau. It's ten times worse than we thought. And the winter will come soon. It's very urgent to take action."

Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla is facing tough time now. She cannot come to terms with the sudden illness of her brother Bobby Chawla who was recently admitted in a hospital after suffering a massive stroke. Juhi is very attached to her brother as she lost her parents long time ago.

Juhi Chawla is now seeking divine help to tide over this rough phase of her life. The actress was spotted on Versova beach in the middle of the night doing some special prayers. Let's hope Juhi's prayers are answered soon and her brother is back in top health sooner. Superstar SRK also offered prayers along with actress Tabu for the speedy recovery of actress Juhi Chawla's brother Bobby Chawla. CEO of Shahrukh Khan's company Red Chillies Entertainment Bobby was taken to a hospital on Sunday after he collapsed while dining at a restaurant.

Everybody was only assumed that Deepika Padukone has broken relation with her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor but now the report has been confirmed by Deepika herself by refusing a film with Ranbir Kapoor. There is a strong buzz that Deepika has refused to work with Ranbir. According to some news sources close to the actors - A famous producer recently offered a film to Deepika and planned to cast Ranbir as the male lead. But, Deepika turned down the proposal simply for the reason that it had Ranbir opposite her.
