The Auction Of Sridevi Painting Held On May 6:


Everybody Know her as a Bollywood famous actress. But there is another facet--not known to many--and that is her skill as a painter. Actress Sridevi's painting titled will go under the hammer for charity on May 6 at the world famous auction house Christie's.

“The auction of Sridevi painting held on May 6, will open at $25,000 and is expected to fetch $50,000”, says Boney Kapoor, Sridevi's husband and leading film producer. He says Sridevi has been into painting from an early age and painted whenever she found time after her shootings during her film career. Some of Sridevi's paintings have been gifted to her sister and family friend actor Salman Khan, says Bomey Kapoor.

Sridevi quit the silver screen in 1997 to look after her two children and husband and also found time to do some painting. According to Boney, plans are afoot to hold an exhibition in a few months with 25 to 30 of her paintings.

The money raised from auction of the actress' painting will go to a charity fund to which other global personalities like former US President Bill Clinton and TV personality Oprah Winfrey also contribute. Boney says she is proud of he wife both as an actress as well as a painter although two are totally different mediums of artistic expression.
